The Texas AgriLife Extension Service in partnership with federal, state, and county government is uniquely suited to deliver research-based educational programs to meet express needs and emerging issues of the citizens. The county staff will continue to meet the challenges of change as we lead local into the 21st century.

Research shows that young people who participate in organized youth clubs are 85 percent less likely to end up in jail. For over 90 years, the 4-H program has been helping youth reach positive goals.


The programs and activities conducted in McLennan County represent the efforts of over 9,000 trained volunteers who expand and extend the efforts of the five Extension professionals.

The Extension program in McLennan County is part of the statewide Texas AgriLife Extension Service. The Extension Service offers information and education in agricultural, evironmental stewardship, youth and adult life skills, leadership, and community development. It is a member of The Texas A&M University System and is linked with Texas county governments and the nationwide AgriLife Extension System. Extension values promote citizen and community involvement, scientifically based education, lifelong learning and volunteerism. The Extension Service also works cooperatively with other public and private universities, agencies, and organizations to serve the educational needs of Texans. Educational programs conducted by the Texas AgriLife Extension Service serves people of all ages regardless of socioeconomic level, race, color, sex, religon, disability, or national origin.
