Official Public Records
Official Public Records (OPR) include legal documents such as deeds, deeds of trust, liens, hospital liens, transfer of liens, release of liens, military discharges (DD 214's), assumed name certificates, assignments, power of attorneys, affidavits, cattle brands, plats, and a variety of other important records. In Texas, property surveys are not recordable documents, so they are not typically maintained at the county level. We will only have a copy of a survey if it was recorded as an exhibit to another document, which is rare.
All documents recorded in the McLennan County Clerk's Office from 1849 through 1995 are available in bound volumes located in our office.
