1. When do the substitute trustee’s sales take place?

The sale is held the 1st Tuesday of every month. The time(s) of the sales are indicated on each notice.

2. Where are the foreclosures held?

Foreclosure postings and sales will take place on the top of the outside steps to the 2nd floor in front of the Courthouse on Washington Avenue

3. Does your office post foreclosures at the courthouse?

No. We post the 1 required copy with the County Clerk's office. All other required posting places are up to the trustee to post.

4. What is the cost for posting a foreclosure notice?

Foreclosure posting costs are $3 per notice.

5. Do you file stamp notice copies?

Yes. There is no charge if brought in by the customer.

6. Who conducts the sale(s)?

The trustee acting on behalf of the lender is the one who conducts the sale.

7. Where can I find out which properties will be sold?

Notices of all properties to be sold can be viewed 24 hours a day on the McLennan County website. The notices may also be viewed on the public computer terminals located at the McLennan County Clerks Office on the 2nd Floor of the McLennan County Records Building. Additionally copies are posted on a bulletin board located outside of the McLennan County Court house.

8. When are the notices posted?

All notices for the sales must be posted 21 days prior to the sale. (21 days before the 1st Tuesday of each month)

9. Where can I obtain a list of properties to be sold?

The County Clerk’s office does not compile or publish a printout in list form. Copies of individual notices may be printed from the public computer terminals in the Deed Records office for a fee of $1 per page.
