Does the County Clerk provide Criminal Searches?

Yes, but criminal name searches are not done over the phone, unless you pre-pay by credit card. Criminal name searches only include McLennan County. Criminal searches are $5 per name. Criminal search letters are $5. Copies are $1 per page. Certified copies are an additional $5 per case. To request a criminal name search by mail, we will need a written request, which includes the name to search for and any identifiers (i.e.- Date of Birth), along with a cashier’s check or money order, and a return address and phone number.
