Hello, I am Heather Travers, the McLennan County Health Services Director. I have been with the county since 2020, before that managed a specialized mental health program with the local mental health authority and offered counseling in a private practice setting as an LPC, Licensed Professional Counselor.
Some of my other community affiliations include the United Way of Waco-McLennan County, the Waco-McLennan County Health District Advisory Board, Prosper Waco’s Access to Healthcare (A2HC) and the Heart of Texas Council of Governments (HOTCOG) Regional Transportation Coordination Council.
At McLennan County Health Services, we offer the County Indigent Health Care Program (CIHCP), Expanded Case Management program, the Pauper Cremation program and manage the medical claims for both the CIHCP and McLennan County and Jack Harwell Jails.
Serving the needs of our community is important to us and we work hard to detect and reduce barriers to access care. You will find our office is friendly and welcoming with staff eager to help!
In my free time, I cherish time with family. I enjoy hosting dinner, book club and family holidays! You might also find me reading, sewing or working in my yard!
